G House

A house surrounded by a wall

The boundary of this small site is framed within a high solid wall, to allow the internal space of the house to extend to the maximum possible limit. Private spaces viewed from within become enlarged in perspective and a greater sense of depth is experienced.

Inside the three level, 3500 square foot residence, a complex three dimensional, circular movement defines the spatial composition so that the path of ones feet and journey of ones gaze are constantly encouraged to be independent of one another.

From the entrance level, a diagonal circulation space cuts through the orthogonal order of the house and joins all of the public and private functions together.

Light that penetrates from above, shapes this volume, attracts the eye and imbues the white surfaces with shadows and dynamic patterns.
