SodaStream Factories

The Sudh factory covers an area of eighty-five dunams in a new industrial park - "Idan HaNegev" located near the Lehavim Junction. The plant will house various structures that will include all stages of production and will accommodate 1,000 workers in this extensive site. The lot is located on a high ridge overlooking the forty road in the east and Rahat in the west. An endless, bright, yellow desert space of shifting sands is the near and far view. We wanted to create a special work environment, shaded, introverted and protected. We crowded the structures along a long, long axis that passes through a deep, deep wadi, which serves as a green lung that crosses the entire site. The line of buildings accompanies both sides of the wadi and is designated for the entire production line including a factory for plastics, metal, assemblies, syrups and a huge warehouse.

We have created a peripheral road for the transportation of heavy and passing traffic and an internal road for easy traffic and forklifts. Bridges crossing the wadi connect the factories to the peripheral movement. The Wadi is the heart of the project, and through it all the traffic on the site is carried out, on a low and protected level. The beginning of the road in the entrance building and the changing rooms and the end at the sloping northern end that serves as a meeting and special events. The entrance space at the southern end of the wadi is a multi-purpose structure. On its lower level are the dining room, the visitors' center and the auditorium. They all open toward the wadi, enjoying the shade and the greenery and the long perspectives stretching all the way through. It is a desert oasis of greenery and human partnership.
